Kitchen is... marvelous.

Wow. I am still not the wonderful teacher I would like to be, but today was certainly easier than the last 4 weeks. I started teaching Kitchen rather than Gym and for whatever reason, I find it so much easier for me. Great news indeed. :) We are starting to have so much fun with the kids though, getting to see their little individual characters and different personality traits. They are all so much fun, even the ones that often make me question myself :) A couple of the girls were having a hard time with a few of their kids today and Abby mentioned something I hadn't thought about. She said, this is really so good for us, because after dealing with some of these kids for 6 months, there will be nothing we can't handle as mothers in the future. Ha. She went on to say, there is no way her kids will ever behave like these kids, but either way. It's so true. There are so many things we are learning here that will be so beneficial to me as a mother. Patience for one, is probably the biggest one, for me particularly. I cannot wait to be a mother and raise my own beautiful children someday :)

Brother Kevin Smith from the branch in Shenzhen made a visit here in Kaiyin today to organize an official group for us here in Zhongshan so that we can start partaking of the sacrament. It has been since we got here in the first week of January since I have taken the sacrament and I cannot tell you how much joy it brings to me to know that I will be able to take it this Sunday. You will never know what it's like without it, until you don't have it. The difference it makes in our lives in un mistakable. What a marvelous blessing it is.

Today was glorious! Beautiful weather. Hot, but overcast, beautiful breeze... can't complain. Overall, another great day in Zhongshan, China. :)

  1. I used to think the same thing about what my future kids would or would not be like. Ahhh...if only if were entirely up to us. But, alas, it isn't. CS Lewis said it well, "Children make Christians out of us." As sweet as they are, they are themselves, despite all we do to teach them.
These are good lessons. I love reading your blog sis!
